Bruno Kreisky - 25 Jahre nach seinem Rücktritt am 1.4.1983 Bruno Kreisky (22.01.1911-29. 07.1990) was Federal Chancellor of Austria between 1970 and 1983. After returning from his WW II exile in Sweden he held various political functions (amongst others he contributed to the State Treaty negotiations) and became Austria's longest serving Chancellor of the 2nd Republic. On April 1st 1983 he stepped back after the Social Democrats lost their absolute majority in the national elections.
